- 1½ lbs round steak (cut into 4 pieces)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion (sliced)
- 1 small green bell pepper (sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp dried thyme
Instructions
1️⃣ Prep the Steak:
- In a shallow dish, mix flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Dredge each piece of steak in the flour mixture, coating well.
2️⃣ Sear the Steak:
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
3️⃣ Sauté the Veggies:
- In the same skillet, add onions, bell peppers, and garlic.
- Cook for 3 minutes until softened.
4️⃣ Make the Sauce & Simmer:
- Stir in diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and thyme.
- Return the steak to the skillet, spooning sauce over it.
- Cover and simmer for 35-40 minutes until the steak is fork-tender.
5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy:
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered noodles! 😍
